The Reading Antiquarian Society brings the Revolutionary War back to Parker Tavern with a reenactment commemorating the 1776 capture of Lieut. Col. Archibald Campbell and two companies of the 71st Highland Regiment. Visit the militia camp guarding the Scottish prisoners, learn about Scottish culture and dress, and take part in a formal tea hosted by Campbell himself. Pottery and weaving demonstrations round out the day, with the historic tavern open for hours. Free and open to all ages as part of the celebration of America’s 250th.
