Accessory Swap set for April 11 at Reading Public Library

Looking to refresh your spring style, without spending a dime? The Reading Public Library is hosting a fun, sustainability-focused Accessory Swap this April.

Refresh your look - sustainably

The community is invited to take part in a no-buy swap event on Saturday, April 11, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This all-ages event offers a chance to exchange gently loved accessories and jewelry, helping reduce waste while giving items a second life.

How it works

Participants are encouraged to bring new or gently used items ahead of the event:

  • Donation window: April 1 - 10

  • Drop-off location: Reference Desk at the library (64 Middlesex Avenue)

  • Limit:

    • 10 items per person

    • 20 items per household

Important: Donations will not be accepted on the day of the swap.

You do not need to donate items to participate.

What you can bring

Accepted items include:

  • Sunglasses (with cases)

  • Hats and hair accessories

  • Jewelry and pins

  • Watches

  • Charms and keychains

  • Belts, ties, suspenders

  • Scarves, wraps, shawls

  • Gloves

  • Handbags, backpacks, wallets

What’s not accepted

To keep the event focused and organized, the following items will not be accepted:

  • Clothing of any kind

  • Undergarments

  • Shoes

  • Dirty, damaged, or incomplete items
