Babysitter Training Workshop offered for Teens Ages 12-18

(1-minute read)

Young teens interested in learning how to become responsible and confident babysitters will have the opportunity to build essential childcare skills at an upcoming Babysitter Training Workshop for ages 12-18.

The workshop is designed to help participants develop the knowledge and confidence needed to care for younger children while working for family, friends, or neighbors.

During the training, participants will learn practical skills, including:

  • Interviewing with parents

  • Infant and toddler care

  • Diapering and feeding

  • Creative reading and activities for young children

  • Preparing appropriate snacks

  • Managing bedtime routines

  • Basic first aid

  • Safety tips for babysitting situations

The workshop will be taught by Debbie Laflamme, who holds a degree in Early Childhood Education. Laflamme previously operated a licensed daycare in Massachusetts, caring for children of all ages in her home for more than 20 years, and currently works as a private care provider.

Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and a snack to the workshop.

Parents and guardians can learn more about the program or register online here.
