Community forum set for proposed Snow Shoveling Bylaw

(1-minute read)

Reading’s Commission on Disabilities and Bylaw Committee will host a joint public forum on Wednesday, October 21, to discuss a proposed snow shoveling bylaw that Town Meeting will consider in November.

What the forum will cover

The forum is set for 6:00 pm at the Reading Public Library and will give residents, business owners, and other members of the community a chance to:

  • Learn more about the proposed bylaw and why it is being considered

  • Understand how the proposed requirements would apply to properties abutting sidewalks

  • Ask questions and learn more about the proposal

  • Share feedback and comments with the Commission on Disabilities and Bylaw Committee

Organizers say the proposal is still under consideration and that community feedback will help inform the ongoing review. The town's website has the draft of the proposed bylaw.

Details

Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend, learn more, and share their questions and feedback.

  • Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2026
