After building a coalition of labor unions, local leaders, and grassroots supporters, Koh prepares to take his fight for working families to Congress.
Peabody, MA — Dan Koh has won the general election for the Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District.
Addressing supporters at his election night celebration, Koh thanked the volunteers, community leaders, and labor organizations who powered his campaign over the past year, including the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and more than 130 local elected officials, labor unions, and community leaders who endorsed his campaign.
Throughout the campaign, Koh centered his message on three priorities: standing up to corruption in the Trump administration, lowering costs for working families, and restoring faith in what Americans can accomplish together.
“Tonight, we will win back the House. But we will have failed if we go back to the status quo,” Koh said in his election night speech. “It’s time to help people as much as Donald Trump has hurt people. It won’t be just enough to unrig the system. It’s time we rig the system for working people.”
Koh will begin his first day as congressman-elect with a 5:15 a.m. visit to Teamsters members at Republic Services. He will then run 15 miles from his home in Andover to his Peabody office, with each mile representing an issue he will fight for in Congress. Later in the day, Koh plans to join his campaign team volunteering at Beverly Bootstraps before beginning a series of meetings with mayors and community groups across the district.
Dan Koh is the Congressman-elect for Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District. The descendant of Korean and Lebanese immigrants, he previously served as a senior aide in the Biden White House and as chief of staff to Boston Mayor Marty Walsh. He lives in Andover with his wife, Amy, and their two children, Theodora and Jack.
