Electronics Recycling Event coming to Reading

Clear out your old electronics responsibly this fall! Green Day Recycling will host an Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Old South United Church Methodist Church parking lot, 6 Salem Street in Reading.
This event is open to residents of all towns, rain or shine.
What you can bring
Electronics and appliances of all sizes will be accepted, with costs ranging from $5 to $40 per item, depending on size and type. Items include:
$5 each - laptops, DVD players, stereos, video game consoles, lamps, small electronics
$10 each - vacuums, coffee makers, toaster ovens, small appliances
$20 each - flat screen monitors, microwaves, dehumidifiers, large printers, leaf blowers, propane tanks (empty)
$25 each - TVs up to 26”, dorm-sized refrigerators, outdoor grills
$30 each - Large appliances, washers, dryers, treadmills, exercise equipment
$35 each - TVs over 36”, large refrigerators, ride-on lawn mowers
$40 each - Projection TVs
Free drop-offs
Some items will be accepted for free (cash donations appreciated): bicycles (reusable), cell phones, tablets, video game media, accessories, wires, cables, batteries, chargers, VHS/DVDs, and keyboards.
Cash is the preferred payment method, but Venmo and checks (for totals under $30) will also be accepted.
Why it matters
Electronics recycling helps keep harmful materials out of landfills while giving reusable items a second life. Events like this make it easy for residents to dispose of unwanted items and help protect the environment safely and responsibly.
