Essex County State Representatives Endorse Dan Koh for Congress

Pointing to his experience in local, state, and federal government, North Shore legislators say Koh is ready to lower costs, protect working families, and stand up to Donald Trump.

Peabody, MA – Today, 14 Democratic State Representatives from Essex County announced their endorsement of Dan Koh in the general election for Massachusetts’ Sixth Congressional District.

The representatives highlighted Koh’s record of fighting for working families and his readiness to stand up to the Trump administration. Rep. Sally Kerans said that “Dan Koh will be a relentless fighter for Massachusetts’ Sixth District.” Rep. Manny Cruz pointed to the pressures facing his constituents, noting that “Dan Koh has spent his career championing working families, affordable housing, and workers’ rights, including the right to organize and join a union.” Rep. Frank Moran said Koh “will bring that same commitment to Congress, standing up to Donald Trump and fighting for the priorities that matter to families across the Sixth District.” Rep. Jenny Armini called Koh “someone who genuinely cares if kids are fed and educated, housing is abundant, health care is accessible, and our coast is protected from the impacts of climate change.” Rep. Kristin Kassner said, “I look forward to working with him to solve our biggest challenges, care for our people, and protect our precious environment. In Washington, he’ll be the tireless advocate the North Shore deserves and a powerful voice for our communities.”

As families across the Sixth District face rising costs and growing uncertainty about the future of critical federal programs, Koh emphasized the importance of electing leaders who will work together across every level of government to deliver for their communities.

“I’m proud to stand alongside these state representatives, who fight every day for the families and communities they serve,” said Koh. “They see every day how rising costs are squeezing families and how threats to health care and other essential programs put their constituents at risk. We need leaders at every level of government willing to stand up, push back, and deliver real results for working families. I look forward to working alongside them to lower costs, protect health care, and defend our rights and democracy.”

Koh is the Democratic nominee for Massachusetts’ Sixth Congressional District. He is endorsed by President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and more than 100 local and national elected officials, unions, and community leaders. His campaign has raised more than $5.5 million since launch, a record for a Massachusetts House candidate.
