Get trained in Mental Health First Aid this Spring
(1-2 minute read)
Community members looking to strengthen their ability to support others are invited to participate in a free Mental Health First Aid training hosted by the Reading Coalition for Prevention & Support this spring.
The evidence-based course provides adults with practical tools and a clear action plan to recognize and respond to signs of mental health challenges. Participants will learn how to approach someone who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, or other mental health issues - and how to offer initial support until appropriate professional help is available.
The training will be led by Tanya Jarzyniecki, MLHC, LADAC 1, and will take place at the Reading Public Library from March 24 through April 14. Sessions will be held on Mondays from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Mental health First Aid is designed for adults from all backgrounds, parents, educators, coaches, faith leaders, employers, and community members, who want to feel more confident recognizing warning signs and responding in a supportive, informed way.
The program is offered free of charge, but registration is required.
