January is National Blood Donor Month
(2-minute read)
January is National Blood Donor Month, a time to recognize the lifesaving impact of blood donors and encourage residents to give during one of the most critical periods of the year.
Winter months see a decline in blood donations due to holidays, illness, and weather-related disruptions. Yet the need for blood remains constant - a single donation can help save up to three lives.
Donate locally in January
Residents are encouraged to donate blood locally throughout the month at the Good Samaritan Lodge, 110 Haven Street in Reading, on the following dates:
January 15
January 29
Appointments are required and can be scheduled through the American Red Cross.
By donating blood, residents play a direct role in supporting hospitals, emergency care, and patients in need across the region. January is an ideal time to start the year by giving back in a meaningful and tangible way.
