Local Elected Officials Across the 5th Middlesex Endorse Kate Lipper-Garabedian for State Senate

34 Local Elected Officials Unite Behind 5th Middlesex Candidate

MELROSE – State Representative Kate Lipper-Garabedian's campaign for the 5th Middlesex District State Senate seat has earned the support of 34 local elected officials across the District, including members of Select Boards, City and Town Councils, and School Committees.

In Melrose, Lipper-Garabedian has earned the endorsement of Mayor Jennifer Grigoraitis, City Council President Brad Freeman, and Councilors Maya Jamaleddine, Elizabeth Kowal, Ryan Williams, Manjula Karamcheti, John Obremski, Christopher Park, Kimberly Vandiver, and Devin Romanul. She is also supported by School Committee Chair Seamus Kelley and members Matt Hartman, Melissa Holleran, Sheri Leo, and Jennifer Razi-Thomas.

In Winchester, Select Board Chair Anthea Brady, Select Board Members Michael Bettencourt and Bill McGonigle, School Committee Chair Timothy Matthews, and School Committee Members John Bellaire and Stefanie Mnayarji have endorsed her campaign. 

In Wakefield, Town Council Chair Jonathan Chines, Vice Chair Stacey Constas, and Councilor John Crisley have announced their support, along with School Committee Chair Kevin Fontanella and Members Kevin Piskadlo, Melissa Quinn, Pete Davis, and Stephen Ingalls. 

In Stoneham, Select Board member Ryan Foreman, School Committee Member Megan Samborski, and Town Moderator Jeanne Craigie have endorsed her campaign. 

In Malden, School Committee member Michael Drummey has lent his support.

In Reading, Select Board member Karen Herrick has endorsed her.

As a former elected local official, I know that they work closest to the communities we serve, and their support reflects a shared commitment to moving the 5th Middlesex forward. I look forward to bringing that same dedication to the State Senate," said Lipper-Garabedian.

Representative Kate Lipper-Garabedian is a candidate in the Democratic primary for the 5th Middlesex District State Senate seat, which covers Malden, Melrose, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, and Winchester (Precincts 1, 2, 3, and 8). The primary is Tuesday, September 1.
