Nighttime roadwork on Lowell Street/Route 129 begins June 15
The Town of Reading has announced that beginning Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 8:00 pm, Cassidy Corp. will start milling and grinding the existing roadway pavement on Lowell Street/Route 129, from Bond Street to Causeway Road. This work is scheduled for overnight hours from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am, weather permitting.
Project timeline and segments
Roadway milling and grinding will occur over several nights and will be split into two primary segments:
Segment 1: Lowell Street from Bond Street to approximately 50 feet northwest of the Grove Street/Willow Street intersection.
Segment 2: Lowell Street from approximately 50 feet northwest of the Grove Street/Williw Street intersection to Causeway Road.
What residents should expect
Delays, detours, and road closures should be expected throughout the project.
On-street parking will be prohibited in the work zones and will be strictly enforced by the Reading Police Department.
Residents who need to travel during the construction hours should plan for potential delays.
The Town encourages residents to follow all posted signage and instructions from on-site personnel to ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and workers.
