Poetry by Richard Perry: Someday We’ll Know

Someday We’ll Know

How can I forget you? I don’t know what to say.

There’s no sense in trying; it doesn’t work that way.

We shared such great love, over all those years

Days of joy and laughter; sometimes a few tears.

Challenges would come; we faced them hand in hand

Trusting in God’s promise that we would understand

Not while walking on this earth, but on the day we meet

When before His throne, we’d sit at Jesus’ feet

The music of the angels will fill the heavenly skies

While standing in His presence, tears fill our eyes

Now you know the answers, I’ll just wait and pray

Until we stand side by side on that glorious day

Sharing life eternal as we stand on heaven’s shore

Surrounded by loved ones who have gone before.

Then, with the angel chorus, we will sing God’s praise

And bask in His glory through the never-ending days.
