Poetry by Richard Perry: The Night Sky

The Night Sky

The night sky, such a mystery,

A black velvet curtain covering the earth,

The sunlight fades as stars slowly appear

Like a symphony, of grandeur, written by God.

No music, just motion.

The bright sky of the day slowly disappears.

It’s last light fading into the horizon.

Stars now fill the heavens.

The moon moves silently across the sky,

Reflecting light from the day now past.

The vastness of the universe before our eyes

While stillness rolls over the earth.

The day now ended, it is time to rest.

A new day soon will come.

This cycle repeats all the days of our life.

What a blessing God gives us each day.
