(2-3 minute read)

Graphic by the Town of Reading.

The Town of Reading is launching a new way for residents to stay informed and engaged, introducing a podcast created in partnership with RCTV.

Titled "Reading Between the Lines," the podcast features Town Manager Jayne Wellman and offers a deeper look at the issues, projects, and decisions shaping the community.

Going beyond the headlines

The podcast is designed to provide more context and insight into local government topics that don’t always fit into traditional updates. Episodes will explore:

  • Major town projects and initiatives

  • Behind-the-scenes conversations from Town Hall

  • Explanations of how local government works

  • Responses to questions submitted by residents

Organizers say the goal is to make local government more accessible through a conventional and engaging format.

Community-driven content

Residents are encouraged to help shape future episodes by submitting questions and topic ideas.

Have something you’d like explained? Curious about a project or process? Community members can send suggestions directly to TownManager@ReadingMa.gov.

First episode available now

The first episode of Reading Between the Lines is already live and available through RCTV’s Youtube channel.

Additional episodes can be found on the RCTV podcast page.

Stay connected

With a mix of updates, explanations, and community input, Reading Between the Lines aims to give residents a clearer understanding of what’s happening across Reading and why it matters.

Listeners are invited to tune in and join the conversation.
