Reading Food Pantry seeks community support

The Reading Food Pantry, located at 6 Salem Street in the back parking lot of the Old South United Methodist Church, continues its mission to provide high-quality, respectful service to neighbors in need. The pantry addresses food and personal care needs in a welcoming environment, with the goal of enhancing well-being throughout the community.

Current needs

The Reading Food Pantry is currently in need of:

  • Paper towels

  • Canned salmon

  • Bar Soap

  • Hot cocoa

  • Kid’s snacks

Community members are encouraged to view the pantry’s Current Needs List and consider donating.

Ways to donate

For convenience, donations can be made through the Reading Food Pantry’s Amazon Wishlist, which ensures items are delivered directly to the pantry’s door: Amazon Wishlist.

Monetary donations are also welcome and can be made securely online through PayPal, Venmo, and other methods available on the pantry’s website: Donate Online.

Additionally, donation bins are located near the registers at both Stop & Shop and Market Basket in Reading for added convenience.

Donation drop-off hours

Donations may be dropped off directly at the pantry every Wednesday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.

Food pantry hours of operation

The Reading Food Pantry is open to any Reading resident in need. Pantry hours are:

  • Monday evenings: 6:30 - 7:30 pm

  • Friday mornings: 10:30 - 11:30 am
