Juneteenth, observed on June 19th, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States and is a federal holiday. Reading’s Freedom Festival is a community-wide celebration of that history, honoring Black freedom, culture, and the ongoing work of building a more just and equitable town.

Whether you can give a few hours before the event to help with setup, support activities during the festival, or stay through the end for breakdown, every volunteer shift makes a difference. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to show up and be part of something meaningful.
