Running For Good on Thursday, July 16!
Get ready to run with the Reading Lions Club and The Friends of Reading Recreation! The Journey for Sight, our annual charity 5K Road Race and 1 Mile Walk will take place Thursday evening July 16th at 6:30 PM, beginning and ending at Memorial Park on Harrison Street.

All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund (MLERF) and other vision-related charities which finance basic eye research at world-renowned institutions such as the Mass. Eye and Ear in Boston. The Reading Lions Club has donated over $350,000 from the proceeds of this race to eye research, and we are excited to continue these efforts in conjunction with the Friends of Reading Recreation (FORR).
T-Shirts will be given out to the first 250 entrants, and awards will be presented to the overall 5K Male, Female and Non-Binary winners, as well as the top 3 Male, Female and Non-Binary finishers in each of the following age categories: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. We welcome runners of all ages!
In addition to the awards and t-shirts, refreshments, pizza and water will be available post-race for all competitors, as well as some post-race raffle prize drawings. Join us for this worthwhile event and have a fun family evening right here in the heart of Reading.
REGISTRATION: Pre-register: www.runsignup.com/Race/MA/Reading/FORR5K. On-site registration will be available from 5-6:15rpm. $30.00 pre-registration, $35.00 day of race. A reduced fee of $20.00 pre-registration, $25.00 day of race is available for ages 17 and under. There is also a 1 Mile Walk category for walkers who wish to support a great cause.
