Rep. Tram Nguyen Releases Statement on New Report Detailing Transparency Around Beccia’s Investments

Andover, MA - State Representative Tram Nguyen today released the below statement in response to an Eagle-Tribune article, “Beccia's filing reveals undisclosed stocks, assets” detailing an updated financial disclosure that shed light on assets worth millions of dollars not previously disclosed.

Tram, who led the field of Sixth District candidates in transparency and challenged her opponents to follow her lead by releasing five years of tax returns, is calling on all candidates who have not yet released their returns to commit to doing so in order to give voters time to assess the information before the primary.

Beccia and Dan Koh have previously committed to releasing their returns but have yet to do so.

“In a time where trust in government, particularly in this Congress and this White House, is historically low, we need leaders who are willing to set a high bar for transparency and openness. I’m concerned by reports about my opponents and their significant personal wealth and special-interest money being used to try and buy this election, including one who reportedly made millions while serving as a political appointee in the White House and another who failed to disclose millions of dollars in assets. Voters have already started casting ballots, and I call on my opponents to release at least five years of their tax returns by August 14 to give voters time to make informed decisions before the primary on September 1.”
