What Reading voters need to know before the Nov. 3 midterm election

Reading voters will head to the polls, or return their ballots by mail, for the Midterm Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Here is what residents need to know about deadlines, early voting, and how to make sure every part of their ballot counts.

Where and when to vote

All Reading precincts vote at the Reading Memorial High School Fieldhouse, 62 Oakland Road, from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm on Election Day.

Key deadlines

Last Day to register to vote: October 24, 2026, by 5:00 pm
Deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed: October 27, 2026, by 5:00 pm
Deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed: October 27, 2026, by 5:00 pm
Deadline to request an absentee ballot in person: November 2, 2026, by 12:00 pm

In-person early voting

Reading will offer in-person early voting at Reading Town Hall from October 17 through October 30, on the following schedule:

Saturday, October 17: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday, October 19: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Tuesday, October 20: 7:30 am - 7:00 pm
Wednesday, October 21: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Thursday, October 22: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Friday, October 23: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday, October 24: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Monday, October 26: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm

Reviewing the ballot

Residents can preview the sample ballot before Election Day. The ballot spans four pages covering candidates for office, statewide ballot questions, and local ballot questions.

Residents voting by mail should pay close attention when it comes time to return their ballot. Each of the four pages must be included in the return envelope. If a page is left out, any votes on that specific page, whether for a candidate, a state question, or a local question, will not be counted. Residents should check that all four pages are enclosed before sealing and returning their envelope.
