LTE: Introducing Allison Powell as a candidate for Town Meeting Precinct 3

To the Editor,

My name is Allison Powell, a lifelong Reading resident and member of the Reading Memorial High School Class of 2020, and I’m running for Town Meeting in Precinct 3. I’m grateful for the community that has nurtured me and inspired me to give back.

Town Meeting is where residents make decisions that shape our schools, programs, and services — from supporting youth and community initiatives to preserving the values that make Reading inclusive and strong. I want to ensure Reading remains supportive of programs that strengthen our community, fiscally responsible, and dedicated to providing opportunities for everyone.  

I’m running because I believe everyone—young and old—has an important role in shaping the future of our town. I will bring thoughtful, engaged leadership that listens to all residents and works to preserve the shared values that make Reading such a special place.  

I would be honored to represent my neighbors in Precinct 3 and respectfully ask for your vote in the Town Election on April 7.
