LtE: Support for Karen Herrick

It is with deep respect and appreciation for her long time service to Reading residents that I support Karen Herrick's re-election to the Reading Select Board. Many of her supporters will point out her 20 + years of service to Reading through her committment to Town Meeting, the Finance Committee and Select Board. Some will cite her experience as a local business owner, her astute understanding of complex financial spread sheets or even her MBA.  Others will point out her tireless efforts to bring Green Communities to Reading .

Homeowners,and particularily seniors , will recognize her concerns about affordability and unwavering dedication to try to keep taxes sustainable for residents over businesses, unlike Mr. Bacci's stated objective which is to support business over homeowners. Karen Herrick , unlike any other Select Board member in recent history, has worked to cultivate deep connection to our State Representatives in order to campaign for financial support and advocate for all of Reading needs. 

On April 7th I am voting to re-elect Karen Herrick to the Select Board for another basic reason. She brings a level head and respect for residents to the Select Board. While Mr. Bacci uses his position on the Select Board to seek retribution against his perceived poltical emenies , Karen Herrick is using her Select Board position to do town business. Personally my patience is worn thin by the unprofessional antics of several current Select Board members with name calling, using social media accounts to attack residents who may differ on policy. 

Reading needs Karen Herrick on the Select Board. Look at her record, her resume, and past achievements that have served Reading so well . I am looking forward to her continued work on the Select Board.
