LtE: Supporting Dr. Mariah Lancaster

On September 1st, I will be casting my vote for Dr. Mariah Lancaster to be Massachusetts’ sixth district’s representative to Congress and I hope you will join me. 

I have had the opportunity to meet all of the candidates running in this primary election and Mariah stands out as someone with the background, backbone, and beliefs to best represent the North Shore.

Mariah is a working emergency veterinarian and a former staffer of both Congress and the State Department. She knows intimately what it means for working class folks to try and make ends meet and has the experience in the halls of power in DC to fiercely advocate for those of us that sometimes feel powerless.

Mariah has not taken a dime in corporate PAC money or directed contributions and will stand up to the monied interests trying to influence this election. Gone are the days where we can trust politicians to “take their money and still vote against them.” Mariah will be an independent voice to vote for laws that benefit our interests on the North Shore, not selling her vote to the highest bidder. 

Lastly, Mariah is the most skilled communicator in this crowded field. She is an empathetic listener and uses these skills to actually answer questions and be clear about how she would vote on policies. She has not shied away from tough topics, and is the only candidate I’ve heard in this election speak publicly about climate change and our continuing need to address its impacts. 

This primary election will likely come down to just a few hundred votes. Please make a plan to vote and consider marking Dr. Mariah Lancaster as your candidate of choice.
