2026 Annual Census mailed to Reading residents

The 2026 Annual Census has been mailed from the Town Clerk’s Office, and all residents are encouraged to review the information carefully, make any necessary updates following the instructions provided, sign the form, and return it as soon as possible.

The annual census helps ensure accurate voter rolls and municipal records and is an important part of maintaining local civic participation.

What’s included in the mailing

Along with the census form, residents will find:

  • Dog licensing worksheet: The dog licensing period ends March 31, 2026.

  • Vote by Mail Application: Please note that a new Vote by Mail application must be completed and returned each calendar year in order to vote by mail.

If additional Vote by Mail applications are needed, they are available through the Town of Reading Elections page.

How to return your forms

Completed census forms, dog licensing worksheets, and Vote by Mail applications may be returned in any of the following ways:

  • By Mail using the enclosed addressed envelope

  • In person at the Town Clerk’s Office

  • Dropped in the white drop box outside Town Hall
