Mosquito Control spraying scheduled in Reading for late July

The East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project will be conducting mosquito larvicide spraying in Reading in late July, using truck-mounted aerosol sprayers to control mosquito populations ahead of the summer season.
Spraying will take place between sunset and 11:30 pm on each scheduled night. If postponed due to weather, residents can expect spraying to be rescheduled for the following week.
Spray schedule
On Wednesday, July 30, spraying is scheduled for areas of Reading in the vicinity of Sanborne Lane, Emerson Street, Pasture Road, Fairchild Drive, Van Norden Road, Grove Street, Lowell Street, Forest Street, Dustin Road, Berkeley Street, Bond Street, and Mineral Street.
About the product
The mosquito control product being used is Zenivex E4 (EPA Reg. No. 2724-807), applied at 1 oz. per acre. Zenivex E4 is a non-ester pyrethroid classified by the EPA as a reduced-risk pesticide. The product biodegrades rapidly and does not accumulate in the environment.
What residents should know

Residents who see a spray truck are advised to go indoors briefly and close their windows.
Beekeepers do not need to take special precautions, as spraying begins after sunset.
