League of Women Voters to host 5th Middlesex State Senate forum

The League of Women Voters of Winchester and the League of Women Voters of Melrose will host a forum featuring the candidates running for the Democratic nomination for the 5th Middlesex State Senate seat this fall. The seat is currently held by Jason Lewis, who is not seeking re-election. The district covers Malden, Melrose, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, and Winchester.
The forum takes place on Saturday, August 8, at 2 pm and can be watched live online on Stoneham TV, with a recording available afterward on the Stoneham TV website.
As part of an effort to foster an informed electorate, the two Leagues invite the public to submit questions they would like the candidates to answer. Suggested questions can be sent by August 3 to info@lwv-melrose.org.

Election information
Early voting for the primary will begin Saturday, August 22, and primary election day is Tuesday, September 1. Residents can check their voter registration through the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s voter registration search.
