Poetry by Richard Perry: Who, What, Why

Who, What, Why

We are all the same under God’s blue sky;

We’re born into life and eventually die.

God provides for our needs while we are here.

And, His message to us is very clear.

He’s always with us in the sun and rain,

Bringing comfort when we’re in pain.

But what does He ask of us in this life

Just love one another in pain and strife

In each one of us, He has planted the seed,

For helping each other when there’s a need.

Some may say, but I struggle to live;

But even the poor have something to give.

It may be as simple as a comforting word

Bringing hope to someone when it is heard.

Or sitting with a friend who is feeling alone,

To let them know they are not on their own.

If you are blessed to have more than others

Willingly share with your sister and brothers.

Then God will look down and be happy to see,

You’ve become the person He planned you to be.
