The Town’s Compost Center on Strout Avenue is now open for the 2026 season, giving residents a convenient way to dispose of yard waste and support sustainable practices.

As of April 3, 2026, residents can drop off leaves, grass clippings, and other yard debris to help keep the community clean and environmentally friendly.

What residents need to know

Before visiting the Compost Center, residents should be aware of the following guidelines:

  • A 2026 Compost Center Sticker is required

  • The site is open to residents only (no commercial vehicles permitted)

  • Tree trimmings must be no longer than 8 feet and no more than 8 inches in diameter

  • No brush in paper bags - materials must be emptied before disposal

Following these rules helps ensure safe and efficient operations throughout the season.
