Lessons To Share
The flame of life’s candle begins to dim
Yesterdays become lost in the fog
Still memories of past times shine clearly
Things not forgotten, but buried in time
Bringing us joy, and sometimes remorse
Events of the past suddenly surface
Memories of childhood; playing with friends
Long family vacations to the shore
Evening walks on the Boardwalk
Memories that can lift us when feeling down
Still sadness and pain reside in our minds
Pushed back in the hope of being forgotten
Sadly, they still live deep within the brain
Where happiness and sadness reside together
Building blocks that make us who we are
The very fabric of the lives we’ve built
All the things that we can never forget
Still, we can use them as we grow
Sharing the lessons learned with others
This is what God expects us to do
Reaching out to one whose lost their way
As they look for answers each time they pray
