Poetry by Richard Perry: Where Is The Joy?

Where Is The Joy?

In a world so full of heartache, where can joy be found?

In truth, joy is everywhere; just take a look around.

In our lives, we all face sorrow, and at times grief

But God knows our situation and will provide relief.

In the joy of a sunlit morning as you start your day,

Or the whisper of His voice when you take time to pray,

It may be a photo of an adventure you once shared,

Or a gift that you received from a friend who cared

Flowers blooming in the spring, the fresh morning air

Smiling faces that greet you; there is joy everywhere.

The sound of children playing on a bright summer’s day

Or words of encouragement to guide you on your way

Don’t let your life be tainted by the sadness all around.

Let God guide you every day to where joy can be found.
