Town Clerk receives final candidate filings for April election

Nomination papers for the following elected positions were due today at the Town Clerk’s Office, and the candidate filing period has now closed. Below is the final list of candidates who submitted papers for placement on the April 6, 2026, local election ballot.

To qualify, candidates for town-wide elected offices were required to submit at least 50 certified signatures, while Town Meeting candidates were required to submit at least 10 certified signatures from their own precinct. Submitted papers have been certified by the Town Clerk’s Office.

Town Meeting: Each of Reading’s eight (8) precincts will elect eight (8) Town Meeting members for a 3-year term.

As well as electing to fill the following vacancies:

Precinct 2 – One (1) Town Meeting member for a 2-year term

Precinct 3 – One (1) Town Meeting member for a 1-year term

Precinct 4 – One (1) Town Meeting member for a 1-year term

Precinct 6 – One (1) Town Meeting member for a 1-year term
