Reading DPW announces October cleanup and recycling events

(1-2 minute read)

The Town of Reading’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is helping residents prepare for fall with two key events this October focused on seasonal cleanup and responsible recycling.

Curbside leaf collection - Week of October 20-24

Residents are encouraged to place leaves in paper bags by 7:00 am on their regular trash day. Please note that plastic bags or yard waste will not be accepted. This service makes it easy for residents to manage fall yardwork while keeping organic waste out of landfills.

Recycling collection event - Saturday, October 25

A community recycling drop-off will be held at the DPW Garage (75 Newcrossing Road) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Residents can responsibly dispose of electronics, paper, and styrofoam during this event.

These initiatives support Reading’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Let’s work together to keep Reading clean and green!
