Reading students name DPW snowplow fleet for the 2025-2026 season
For the second year in a row, Reading’s Department of Public Works is spreading winter cheer by unveiling the newly selected names for the town’s snowplow fleet. Students from all five elementary and both middle schools once again submitted creative, witty, and winter-themed suggestions - resulting in another standout lineup of names for the 2025-2026 season.
Town announces paving work on Washington, Prescott, and King Streets beginning November 6
The Town of Reading is advising residents that beginning Thursday, November 6, at 7:00 am, weather permitting, roadway paving work will take place on several local streets. PJ Alberts Inc. will be applying the final top pavement layer on the following roadways:
Prescott Street paving scheduled for October 22
The Town of Reading Department of Public Works has announced that paving work will begin on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 7:00 am, weather permitting. Contractor PJ Albert Inc. will be applying a binder mix on Prescott Street, between Sunnyside Avenue and Summer Avenue.
Washington and Prescott Street paving scheduled for October 15
The Town of Reading is advising residnets that beginning Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 7:00 am, weather permitting, PJ Albert Inc. will be paving the binder mix on the following roads: Washington Street and Prescott Street.
Street paving scheduled for King, Prescott, and Washington Streets - October 8
The Town of Reading’s Department of Public Works has announced that roadway reclamation work will begin on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 7:00 am, weather permitting.
