Reading police respond to Walkers Brook Drive after report of self-inflicted gunshot wound

The Reading Police Department responded to the area of 70 Walkers Brook Drive on Tuesday, September 22, after a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound at approximately 12:45 pm. The Reading Police Department said there is no danger to the public, but advised residents of the police and fire presence in the area.
What happened
According the the Reading Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of 70 Walkers Brook Drive after reports of an individual with a gunshot wound. The call came from a United States Postal Service worker who was in the area at the time.
First responders located the person upon arrival and pronounced them dead at the scene. Based on the information available, police are investgating the incident as an apparent suicide. The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office was notified, which police said is standard procedure for unattended death investigations.
