Reading Public Library launches youth library card design contest

Young artists in Reading are invited to showcase their creativity and potentially see their work featured across the community.
The Reading Public Library is now accepting entries for its Library Card Design Contest, open to students in grades K-7.
A creative opportunity for young artists
Participants are asked to create an original design based on this year’s theme:
“Reading is Revolutionary.”
The winning design will be selected by the Library Board of Trustees and featured on a limited edition library card set to debut in September 2026.
How to enter
Students can use a variety of materials to bring their ideas to life, including:
Colored pencil
Markers
Paint

Submission deadline
All entries must be submitted by Thursday, April 30, 2026.
The contest offers a fun and meaningful way for students to combine art and reading, while leaving a lasting mark on the community.
