Reading Recreation announces exciting new Fall Programs

Reading Recreation has a packed schedule this fall with brand-new opportunities for kids and families to learn, play, and have fun together. From creative building challenges to engaging sports and activities, there’s something for everyone.

Buildwave comes to Reading!

Reading Recreation is introducing Buildwave, a one-of-a-kind STEAM + SEL* program that unlocks creativity, builds resilience, and keeps kids engaged through waves of building challenges. With music, visuals, games, and hands-on materials like blocks and bricks, participants of all ages will be inspired to problem-solve, adapt, and explore their imagination.

Two ways to join the fun:

Intergenerational Buildwave - perfect for the whole family!

Date: Thursday, October 2

Time: 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Buildwave for Grades K-5 - a 6-week program for kids!

Date: Tuesdays, October 7 - November 18 (no class Nov. 11)

Sports Zone 101: programs for kids

This fall, Sports Zone 101 is bringing a variety of recreational programs designed to help kids get active, build skills, and have a blast.

Hi-Five Sports (Ages 3-5)

This toddler program introduces children to physical activity while developing motor skills, coordination, and social interaction in a fun, supportive environment.

Date: Saturdays, September 13 - October 11

Time: 10:00 - 10:45 am

Bump, Set, Spike Volleyball (Grades 2-5)

A low-pressure way for kids to learn the fundamentals of volleyball, including passing, setting, spiking, serving, digging, and blocking. Includes games and skill-building challenges.

Date: Mondays, September 15 - October 20 (no class Oct. 13)

Time: 5:15 - 6:15 pm

Battlegrounds - Nerf Edition (Grades 1-6 and 6-8)

Kids test their teamwork and strategy skills through fun, high-energy Nerf-based challenges and games. All supplies provided.

Date: Tuesdays, September 16 - October 21 (no class Oct. 14)

Time: 4:00 - 5:00 pm (Grades 1-5), 5:00 - 6:00 pm (Grades 6-8)

Backyard Birdies (Grade K-2)

A golf-themed program designed to introduce young players to the basics of swing, technique, putting, chipping, and teamwork through fun games and competitions.

Date: Thursdays, September 18 - October 16

With such a wide variety of offerings this fall, Reading Recreation is providing opportunities for kids and families of all ages to stay active, get creative, and enjoy learning new skills. Spaces are limited for all programs, so early registration is encouraged.
