Reading Symphony Orchestra to present “Blast Off into Space!” pops concert

The Reading Symphony Orchestra will close out its pops season with a space-themed musical adventure during “Blast Off into Space!” on Sunday, May 17, at 3:30 pm at the William E. Endslow Performing Arts Center at Reading Memorial High School.

The concert will feature iconic orchestral music inspired by space exploration, science fiction, and cinematic adventure.

A journey through space-themed classics

Audiences can expect a program filled with recognizable favorites from film and classical music, including selections by Richard Strauss, Gustav Holst, John Williams, and Kevin Day.

  • Main Title from Star Wars: A New Hope

  • Princess Leia’s Theme

  • Suite from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
