Recycle your Christmas tree this January

The Town is offering residents two easy and environmentally friendly ways to recycle Christmas Trees this month.

Curbside collection

Republic will collect Christmas trees and leaves curbside during the regular pickup week of January 12-16, 2026. Trees should be at the curb by 7:00 am on your scheduled collection day.

Compost Center drop-off

Residents may also bring Christmas trees directly to the Compost Center on Strout Avenue on Saturday, January 17, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Important reminders

  • All decorations, lights, tinsel, and ornaments must be removed

  • Trees in plastic bags will not be collected or accepted

  • Wreaths and artificial trees are not accepted

  • Leaves will also be collected curbside during the January 12-16 collection week

Recycling your Christmas tree helps reduce waste and supports the Town’s composting efforts. Thank you for doing your part to keep materials out of the landfill.
