RMHS Athletic Hall of Fame seeks $5,000 to add new Wall of Fame panel

The Reading Memorial High School Athletic Hall of Fame is asking the community for help funding a new panel for its Wall of Fame, which honors athletes, coaches, and contributors who have shaped Reading athletics over the years.

A growing wall

With a new class of Hall of Famers set to be inducted, the organization needs to add a panel so incoming plaques can be displayed alongside those already installed on the upper balcony of the Hawkes Fieldhouse. The RMHS Athletic Hall of Fame is a nonprofit funded entirely through private donations and receives no money from the Town of Reading or Reading Public Schools. Every plaque and award, along with the costs of the organization’s biannual induction ceremony, is funded by the generosity of alumni, families, former athletes, coaches, and other supporters.

How to help

The organization is asking the community to raise $5,000 for the new panel and is inviting anyone with a connection to Reading athletics, whether as a former player, a coach, a parent, or simply a supporter of the program, to consider donating.

Donations can be made securely through the Hall of Fame’s website, or by mailing a check made out to RMHS HOF to Jeff Pierce at 12 Pearl Street in Reading.

Organizers say the funds will help preserve the tradition and celebrate the legacy of Reading Memorial High School athletics for the next generation of Hall of Famers.
