Road work near library scheduled for May 4-6

Residents planning to travel near the Reading Public Library should be aware of upcoming roadwork that may affect traffic early next week.
Middlesex Avenue will be closed for paving between Lowell Street and Seering Street from May 4 through May 6. Work is scheduled to take place daily between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.
What to expect
During construction hours:
Middlesex Avenue will be closed to through traffic in the affected area
Detour signs will be in place
Public safety officials will provide traffic direction as needed
Library remains open
Despite the road closure, the Reading Public Library entrance and exit will remain open as usual, allowing visitors to continue accessing the facility.
Plan ahead
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow posted detours, and use alternate routes when possible during the paving work.
Town officials thank residents for their patience as improvements are completed.
