Over the past few weeks, Reading’s Unified Sports program has been on the move - from a league-wide jamboree to an awards banquet to a turf field packed with more than 100 athletes.

With the Division 3 state championships behind them, Reading’s Track and Field athletes changed their focus from helping their team win a meet to competing individually against the best in the state.

On a day when the temperatures were in the 90s, the top track and field athletes from around the state descended upon Merrimack College for the first day of the MIAA Meet of Champions on Thursday, June 4th.

The Meet of Champions (MoC), held at Merrimack College on June 4th and June 6th, features the top athletes from across the state in every event, and Reading is well-represented.

Reading’s boys’ and girls’ track teams had the biggest meet of the year last week - the Division 3 State Championships. 

The first day of the Division 3 State track and field championships is in the books, and already Reading has a state champion and a new school record.

On the second-hottest day of the year, Reading’s track teams battled both the heat and the competition in the Middlesex League Championships on May 20, 2026.

Most high jumpers spend years training before their first competition. Levi Emmanuel has been doing it for a little over a month.

The Reading girls’ and boys’ track teams are down to their final meet of the season, the Division 3 State Championships held at Merrimack College in North Andover.

The Middlesex League is tough and deep in every sport, and track and field is no exception.

Reading’s meet against Woburn on Tuesday, May 12th, was significant in three ways: 1) it was the final dual meet of the season; 2) it was the only home meet of the season; and 3) it was Senior Night. 

This past Saturday, May 9th, the Reading track teams once again braved rain and cold conditions to showcase their skills.

Coming off a cold and rainy State Relays meet just two days prior, Reading’s track team took on Arlington in decidedly different conditions.

The Reading track teams drove down to Oliver Ames in Easton, MA on a cold, windy, and rainy day with big goals in mind. 

The Middlesex League regular season track championship was most likely decided on April 29th in Lexington, as the top teams in the league - Reading and Lexington - squared off. 

Both Reading teams kept up their winning ways at the Burlington track on Thursday, April 16, defeating Belmont handily in their second dual meet of the year. 

Students, school leaders, coaches, and Town officials gathered Thursday evening, February 12, 2026, at the Reading Memorial High School Hawkes Fieldhouse to celebrate the ribbon cutting of a newly renovated training and weight room facilities.

Both the boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams from Reading Memorial High School delivered standout performances at the MIAA Division 3 State Indoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
