The Link microtransit shuttle has arrived in Reading

Reading has a new way to get around town. The Link, a free, on-demand, all-electric regional shuttle service, officially launched on August 31, offering door-to-door transportation to community members in Reading and Wakefield.
What The Link offers
The Link provides convenient, door-to-door transportation for everyday needs: meeting friends for lunch, shopping downtown, catching a train at the MBTA station, getting to an appointment, or attending a community event. Reading and Wakefield riders can also use The Link to reach Winchester Hospital and Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
How it came to Reading
The regional shuttle service was made possible through a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s Micro Transit and Last-Mile Transit Grant Program, which aims to promote flexible, technology-enabled transit options that improve access to jobs, housing, education, and essential services across the state by linking riders to transit hubs and key destinations.
The Link is operated by Circuit, which provides all-electric, on-demand transportation in more than 50 communities, including several elsewhere in Massachusetts.
Hours of operation
The full fleet became operational on August 31, 2026. The Link runs:
Monday to Friday: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Closed Sundays and on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
