Town announces paving work on Washington, Prescott, and King Streets beginning November 6

The Town of Reading is advising residents that beginning Thursday, November 6, at 7:00 am, weather permitting, roadway paving work will take place on several local streets. PJ Alberts Inc. will be applying the final top pavement layer on the following roadways:

• Washington Street (Woburn Street to Lincoln Street)

• Prescott Street (Lincoln Street to Summer Avenue)

• King Street

The paving operation is expected to take approximately 2 days to complete.

Residents and commuters should anticipate delays, detours, and temporary road closures throughout the work period. Those who need to use their vehicles during paving hours are encouraged to park on a street outside of the construction zone. On-street parking will be prohibited in affected areas and will be strictly enforced by the Reading Police Department.

Residents whose scheduled trash or recycling pickup falls during this work period should ensure bins are placed curbside no later than 6:30 am to guarantee collection.
