Town Meeting 101 session planned at Reading Public Library
(1-2 minute read)
Residents looking to better understand how Town Meeting works are invited to attend an upcoming “Town Meeting 101” information session on Saturday, April 25, from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Reading Public Library Community Room.
The session, conducted by Town Moderator Alan Foulds, will provide an overview of what happens before, during, and after Town Meeting, helping residents, whether new or experienced, gain a clearer understanding of the town’s legislative process.
What to expect
The program will include a slide presentation outlining the structure and flow of Town Meeting, including key roles, procedures, and the decision-making process.
Organizers also plan to make the presentation more widely accessible by sharing a recording after the session and posting materials online for future viewing.
Building civic understanding
Town Meeting plays a central role in local government, and the session aims to make the process more approachable for residents interested in learning how to engage and stay informed.
All are welcome to attend.
