Town, schools to hold override Q&A session August 31

(1-minute read)

Reading residents will have another chance to put their questions to town and school leaders during a virtual session on Monday, August 31, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm about the proposed FY28 operational override.

Rather than a traditional webinar presentation, Town Manager Jayne Wellman and Superintendent Dr. Henry Turner have scheduled an hour to take residents’ questions and share information about Reading’s financial outlook and the override. The session will be held on Zoom, and registration is required.

Residents can register here. More information is available on the town’s FY28 Tax Override webpage, and questions can be sent ahead of time to Override@ReadingMA.gov.

Catch up on earlier sessions

The August 31 session follows two earlier override events. The first, a webinar held on August 6, had town and school staff outline the proposal and answer questions submitted by residents. Our coverage of the first session is available here.

Residents can watch the recording on the RCTV YouTube page.

The second, an in-person forum held on August 18 at the Reading Public Library, contained a similar presentation from town staff and new questions from residents. Our coverage of the second session is available here.

Residents can watch the recording on the RCTV YouTube page.
