Trunk or Treat comes to the Burbank YMCA, replacing downtown trick-or-treat

(1-minute read)

New this year, Reading Community Services is partnering with the Burbank YMCA for a Trunk or Treat and Haunted Happenings event on Friday, October 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Burbank YMCA, 36 Arthur B. Lord Drive.

The event is free and open to everyone, and local businesses are invited to take part. Businesses interested in securing a spot can contact John Feudo at JFeudo@YMCABoston.org.

The event replaces the downtown trick-or-treat from prior years. The town said it chose to reimagine the tradition for several reasons: construction on Haven and High streets downtown, growing public safety concerns tied to crowd levels, the cost burden on local businesses to support the event, and a recreation department that is understaffed compared to previous years.
