Amesbury City Councilor Pam Gilday Endorses Tram Nguyen for Congress
Andover, MA: Today, State Representative Tram Nguyen announced the endorsement of Amesbury District One City Councilor Pam Gilday. Callahan’s endorsement follows on the campaign’s announcement that Representative Nguyen was endorsed by more than 40 colleagues from the state legislature in this campaign.
“Tram has the experience, integrity, and passion to lead our communities and region forward. As a long time member of the Amesbury City Council, I know how vital it is to have strong state and federal partners who understand the issues our communities face,” said Amesbury City Councilor Pam Gilday. “I have seen Tram Nguyen deliver time and again for the people she represents, and have seen her work diligently to learn about Amesbury's needs and those of our region. Tram is a proven advocate, inspiring leader, and powerful presence who puts people over politics. I am thrilled to support Tram's campaign for United States Congress.”
ABOUT TRAM T. NGUYEN: State Representative Tram Nguyen has overcome tough challenges her entire life. At just five years old, Tram came to the United States as a refugee after her family fled Vietnam’s authoritarian regime with only $100, a few suitcases, and a dream.
She has always been a fighter, becoming the first in her family to graduate from college, and as an attorney with the Greater Boston Legal Services standing up for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, veterans, immigrants, low-wage workers, and people with disabilities. In that role, Tram became a member of UAW Local 2320.
In 2018, Tram took on a deeply entrenched Republican incumbent and won by ten points, making history as the first Vietnamese American woman elected to public office in Massachusetts. Since then, she has served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives as a bold champion for climate action, affordable housing, workers’ rights, and economic opportunity for all.
