Birch Meadow Park temporarily closing for major upgrades starting July 14
(1-2 minute read)
Big changes are coming to Birch Meadow Park! Beginning Monday, July 14, the park will be temporarily closed as Phase II improvements officially begin. This much-anticipated project will bring new energy, upgrades, and functionality to one of Reading’s most beloved public spaces.
What to expect
The construction timeline is expected to extend into the fall, with late November as the target for substantial completion. Some final touches, including court resurfacing and painting, may continue into early spring, depending on weather conditions.
Importantly, the RISE Preschool Playground resurfacing will be completed before school resumes, ensuring it is ready and safe for students returning in the fall.
Why it matters
These upgrades are part of the Town of Reading’s long-term investment in accessible, modern, and inclusive public spaces. Birch Meadow Park plays a central role in the community, offering recreational space for residents of all ages.
Stay in the loop
The Town appreciates your patience and understanding during the construction period. While the temporary closure may cause some inconvenience, the end result will be a refreshed and improved public space we can all enjoy.
