Serving on the Reading School Committee for the past six years has been one of the most meaningful ways I have contributed to the strength of our community. As I seek re-election to a third term, I am as energized as ever to continue the work of supporting our students and families.

A Deep Connection to Reading

My perspective is shaped by many roles: I am a former special educator and administrator, a local Realtor, a Town Meeting Member, and, most importantly, a parent with three children at different stages of their educational journeys. These experiences keep me deeply connected to the diverse needs of families across our district. I believe our schools should challenge students to reach their highest potential while ensuring every child has the support needed to succeed. This core belief guides every vote I cast and every policy I support.

Meaningful Progress Together

During my time on the Committee, I am proud of the many meaningful strides we have made to strengthen our school district, including:

  • A Strong Start: Transitioning to universal full-day kindergarten to ensure every child has an equitable foundation.

  • Academic Excellence: Advocating for improved math pathways at the secondary levels and a new elementary literacy curriculum that strengthens skills and comprehension across all grades.

  • Investing in the Future: Securing support for the new Killam Elementary School project, a landmark investment that will serve Reading for generations.

Navigating Challenges with Transparency

Our district faces significant fiscal realities ahead. While the SC recently approved a level-services budget for FY27, we are nearing a point where difficult decisions will be required to maintain the high-quality programs and dedicated staff our community values. Having played a leadership role in the successful 2018 operational override in Reading, I am prepared to help guide the community through these conversations with the transparency and care our residents deserve. Thoughtful planning and clear communication will be essential as we navigate these financial realities together.

Leading with Respect

In a time when conversations about education can feel polarized, I remain committed to listening carefully, leading with respect, and keeping students at the center of every decision. My goal has always been to collaborate thoughtfully with colleagues, educators, and families to ensure our schools remain safe, welcoming environments where every student feels they belong.

As we prepare to welcome a new Superintendent following Dr. Tom Milaschewski’s departure, I am dedicated to ensuring a smooth, stable transition so that RPS can continue the important work already underway.

I remain incredibly optimistic about the future of Reading Public Schools. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and hope to continue our collaborative efforts to keep Reading’s schools strong for all.
