Wakefield Street paving scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 29

The Town of Reading Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced that paving will begin on a portion of Wakefield Street starting Tuesday, July 29, weather permitting.

The project will cover the stretch of Wakefield Street from Pearl Street to Charles Street. Construction work is scheduled to take place daily from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and the paving process is expected to take several days to complete.

During this time, residents and drivers should expect delays, detours, and potential road closures in the area. The Reading Police Department will strictly enforce a no on-street parking policy during construction hours.

Those who need access to their vehicles are encouraged to plan ahead, as travel through the area may be limited at times.

For questions or concerns about the project, residents can contact the Reading DPW at 781-942-6686. The Town thanks you for your patience and cooperation during this necessary infrastructure improvement.
