Water main shutdown reported on School Street

(2-3 minute read)

A water main break has occurred on School Street, resulting in a temporary shutdown of water service for all households on the street while repairs are underway.

Crews are currently on site working to locate and repair the break as quickly as possible. Officials report that water service has been shut off along School Street to allow for safe and effective repairs.

Residents in the surrounding area may notice discolored water during the afternoon and evening hours as a result of the break and system disturbance. Discoloration is typically caused by sediment stirred up in the pipes during pressure changes.

What residents should know

  • Water service is currently shut off for all properties on School Street

  • Repair crews are actively working on the water main break

  • Nearby residents may experience temporary water discoloration

  • Updates will be shared as more information becomes available

  • Service is expected to be restored once repairs are completed and the line is cleared

Residents are advised to run cold water briefly after service returns until it runs clear. If discoloration persists, contact the DPW or the water department.

Officials thank residents for their patience while repairs are completed.
